Three times and you’re in! – Port Angeles, Washington
March 31, 2010
The main reason we were in Port Angeles was to take the Black Ball Ferry over to Victoria. We were not the first on, but we were situated in a way that we were the first off! That saved us almost 1/2 an hour!
Where we ate:
She said:
We had dinner the first night at the Downrigger, and liked it so much that we had lunch there before we boarded the ferry for Victoria. I loved the clam chowder!
He said:
I’m sure there are many other great eateries in Port Angeles, but it seems logical to me that eating on the water is a must. And such a must it was! We ate there THREE times – twice, as Marla indicated, and again on our return!
Another unique occurrence for us was, on our return trip, we were again the first vehicle off the ferry! This was especially significant since we unwittingly took a case and a half of wine with us into Canada. That wasn’t the problem. Getting it back into the states could have put us on the hook for duties. So, being the first car through customs, we began cheerily talking about our honeymoon and experiences. The agent, wanting to get the chatty people on their way and avoid creating a delay for everyone, never asked us directly if we had anything that should be declared! So, technically, we made it back into the states without lying!
